Couldn't make the EICMA show last year in Milan? Still need to get your fix of Italian motorcycle design? If so, head over to the Italian Pavilion in the main hall to see a large slice of Italian powersports under one roof.
New to the Pavilion this year are Adler, Gimoto, GCB Special Forks, Iride, New Max, PBR Sprockets, Pitbike Italia and Print. The companies join regular Indy exhibitors Piaggio, Marzocchi, Arrow Exhaust and BMC Air Filters at the 6,000-square-foot Pavilion.
"Italy has a solid reputation in the industry of motorbikes, and when visitors come we want them to find all they can in a single stop — motorcycles, parts, accessories, gear and more," says Nighisti Egziagher, promotions officer for the Italian Trade Commission, the government agency that coordinates the Pavilion at Dealer Expo. "We want to welcome the public to Italian style."
Many Italian Pavilion exhibitors are showing products fresh from EICMA (last November) and Intermot (last October). Dealer Expo is their first chance to show their lines to an U.S. dealer audience.
One regular Indy exhibitor, Progrip, will showcase its new Stealth Goggle among other products. The company's U.S. representative, Vince Marazita, says having Progrip's stand in the Italian Pavilion affords him the ability to meet with distributors and offer dealer support all from a central location, especially since his company sells to multiple distributors.
"Dealers have a chance to stop by and talk to us," Marazita says. "For us, that's the best feedback we get. If they like something or they hate something, that's the time we're going to find out." — Dennis Johnson
