ITP, a subsidiary of Carlisle Tire and Wheel, kicked off its 25th anniversary celebration this year at Dealer Expo.
ITP, which has been involved in ATV racing for 22 of its 25 years, will mark its anniversary by taking part in AMA ATV competition as co-sponsor of the 12-round AMA ITP/Moose ATV National Motocross Championship Series. It's also the tour sponsor of the WPSA PowerSports ATV Tour.
The tire manufacturer is partnered with the new Monster Energy Kawasaki Racing Team and Team Yamaha-sponsored ATV riders. Carlisle Tire and Wheel will be joining ITP's racing program for the first time.
"The WPSA PowerSports ATV Tour delivered on its promises in 2006, making it easy for us to decide to return to the tour in 2007," says ITP operations manager Craig Petersen. "This year we're expanding our involvement in the tour with stepped-up factory team support and by bringing in our parent company, Carlisle Tire, into the mix."
At Indy, ITP debuted the QuadCross MX and Holeshot SR tires, as well as the SS108 and T7 Beadlock wheels. Other new product included colored rings for the Sport-Lock and Trac-Lock wheels.
Also grabbing plenty of attention at the booth were several exotic vehicles. The Monster Energy Kawasaki Racing Team rolled in a race-prepped KXF450R equipped with ITP's QuadCross MX tires. It stood near a couple of wild side-by-side UTVs: Dragon Fire Racing built a Kicker Stereo Rhino with 14-inch SS112 wheels and TerraCross R/T tires; and Rox Speed FX put together an eye-catching Arctic Cat Prowler with Mud Lite XXL tires on 14-inch SS108 wheels. — Guido Ebert
