J&P Cycles raised a record $10,000 in its 2007 fundraising campaign for Camp Courageous of Iowa, a year-round recreational facility for handicapped and special needs children and adults just 10 miles from J&P in Monticello.
Money was raised from J&P Cycles Annual Poker Run and Annual
Motorcycle Industry Golf Outing, both in June. The 2007 total brings J&P Cycles? total donation over the last eight years to more than $43,500.
J&P Cycles president and VP John and Jill Parham presented the $10,000 to Charlie Becker, director of the Camp.
"Jill and I are so grateful to our customers, our suppliers and our employees for their participation in our Camp Courageous fundraisers each year. We are excited to have reached this donation milestone and we couldn't have done it without their generous support."
More than 300 riders participated in the 115-mile 10th annual Poker Run through Eastern Iowa June 9. The first stop was at Camp Courageous, where riders were able to see the facility and talk with special needs visitors
Then June 23, distributors from around the country attended the 6th Annual Golf Outing at Fawn Creek Country Club, contributing by sponsoring holes and awards as well as making cash donations.
"We just can't say thank you enough to J&P Cycles for their years of generous support," said Charlie Becker. " Our Camp is entirely funded by donations and J&P Cycles contribution helps so many campers each year. My hat goes off to everyone for helping J&P support us again this year."
