SANTA MONICA, Calif. - The Progressive International Motorcycle Shows will launch the third annual Ultimate Builder Custom Bike Show at the tour's first stop, Nov. 2-4 in Atlanta. The elite-level custom motorcycle builder competition is sponsored by J&P Cycles.
Bike builders are encouraged to enter their custom creations at any of the 13 show stops across the 2012-2013 nationwide tour for a chance to win a piece of the $91,000 cash purse. Five cash prize winners will be chosen at each show, leading up to a national championship finale at the end of the tour.
"The popularity of this competition continues to grow, allowing attendees an up-close look at more than 500 amazing custom motorcycles in cities nationwide," said Tigra Tsujikawa, brand director for the shows, which are produced by Advanstar (parent of Dealernews). "For the participating builders, this competition provides national exposure and a chance to share their artistic inspiration with enthusiasts while competing for top prize money.
"It is a win-win for everyone involved, especially the attendees that get to see these amazing, one-of-a-kind creations," Tsujikawa added.
The J&P Cycles Ultimate Builder Competition will host five builder classes: Freestyle, Modified Harley, Retro Mod, Performance Custom and (new for this year) Modified Street. Judging will be conducted by industry veterans and the competitors themselves. Top builders in each class will receive awards. Each show will have a winners ceremony. Builders also will be able to have professional studio photos taken with their competition bikes at the J&P Cycles Ultimate Builder Photo Booth.
