JANESVILLE, WIs. – State HOG officials have chosen Janesville as the site for the 2015 Wisconsin HOG rally July 9-11, with Kutter Harley-Davidson serving as host.
Organizers expect about 2,000 people to attend and spend up to $700,000 at hotels, restaurants, stores and gas stations as Janesville hosts the gathering for the first time. The Holiday Inn Express in Janesville will be the host hotel.
Riders will be offered self-guided tours with destinations that include cheesemakers in southern Wisconsin, a winery and the New Glarus Brewery, Kutter HD marketing director CeeCee Phillipps told the Gazette Xtra. She credits Southern Wisconsin HOG Chapter 5547 for the successful bid, a feather in Janesville’s cap since Milwaukee also submitted a bid.
The event will be an opportunity for local restaurants and artists to get their creations in front of people from all over the state, Phillipps said.
The rally will not be the biggest such event Janesville hosts. The national waterski tournament in August is expected to bring in 8,000 or more people over three to four days, and the world waterski tournament in September could draw as many as 15,000.
