SANTA MONICA, Calif. - A veteran of Scorpion and Lemans has joined Advanstar Communications' Powersports Group as an account executive for the 13-city Progressive International Motorcycle Shows.

Jason Walling will "manage the client experience" for the shows, and help grow the group’s consumer event sales and digital sales efforts, the company said. (Advanstar is the parent company of Dealernews).

"Walling is an industry veteran, an ambitious sales strategist, established in the powersports industry, with nearly seven years of achievement and demonstration in industry sales. Walling is skilled in forging strong relationships, with both internal and external business partners and embraces the ability to leverage product and service benefits to surpass client needs and expectations," the company announced

Walling was regional sales manager at Scorpion Sports, and a regional account manager while at Lemans, the parent of Parts Unlimited and Drag Specialties. He joins the sales team of Victoria Folk, Christopher Alfonzo and Jessica Dominguez, and reports directly to Mike Ausec, sales director of the International Motorcycle Shows.

“Jason impressed us with his industry relationships, marketing solutions for clients and the sales growth he drove while in his previous positions," said Ausec. "He brings that same professionalism, customer service and self-motivation to the Progressive International Motorcycle Shows tour as we expand the services we offer to our OEMs, exhibitors and sponsors. He joins an already successful team who is focused on our geographic expansion and feature expansion plans. We’re thrilled to have him on board.”

"Fortune appears in a variety of forms. For me, pursuing the opportunity to impact an industry that my entire life has revolved around presents a cornerstone of wealth and gratification," Walling said. "Advanstar provides the platform to best showcase my talent with like-minded individuals who share a passion for motorcycles. It was immediately apparent to me that this is where I belong.”

Walling is based in the company's Santa Monica, Calif., headquarters.
