When a fire gutted JC Powersports in Sapulpa, Okla., last Oct. 26, Joseph Jameson and business partner Brett Crawford thought their livelihood was going up in smoke.
“A buddy of mine called me that evening and said the place was on fire,” Jameson told the Sapulpa Herald. “I thought he was messing with me couldn’t believe it. I got off the phone with him and then, sure enough I got another call and another call, it was very upsetting. I lost a lot of money [that night].”
An in-house repair and custom shop focused on ATV racers and custom customers..The business also kept a substantial inventory of used ATVs for sale.
Jameson continues to build and repair ATVs while caring for the family farm and cattle operations.
Demolition started on the fire-damaged property Wednesday is his first step to reopening a dedicated store.
“We’re working with the bank. They (have) contracted the demolition of the old building. We have plans to reopen in the Spring,” he told the newspaper. “The new place should take about two and half months to build and it’ll have around 4,200 square feet.”
Jameson says the fire was ruled an arson and the case is still open, though he has not heard any news of a break in the case.
