JIMS USA and land-speed world record holder Hiro Koiso have teamed up to design a tool that tests ring gaps.

The Twin Cam Piston Ring End Gap tool features a flanged shape that allows the piston ring to fit snugly into the vehicle’s cylinder bore, the company says.

To use, install the tool into a cylinder bore and attach the piston ring onto the tool. The tool’s “Key Slot” is where one can view the ring end gap.

The company also recommends using its Feller Gauge Tool (No. 908) to find the exact measurement of the gap. The Piston Ring End GaP tool works with 95”, 103” and 110” Harley-Davidson engines with a 3.875” or 4.000” bore, and 120”, 131” and 135” JIMS engines with a 4.125” or 4.310” bore. www.jimsusa.com.
