Job of the Week: International sales director

INDIALANTIC, Fla. - Powersports recruiter Lonski and Associates announces an opening for an International Sales Director to expand offshore sales for a vehicle and PG&A company.

"This position is responsible for the development and management of sales activities for all our client's products outside North America," Lonski said. "The primary responsibility is to increase international sales growth for powersports vehicles and associated parts, garments and accessories."

The name of the company was not disclosed. Compensation for the position exceeds $100,000 plus incentives, according to Lonski.

The International Sales Director, in this case, is responsible for developing and executing plans to attain and exceed sales targets and generate new business in the Asia/Pacific region, Australia, Europe and Latin America. This calls for identifying and prioritizing the markets with the greatest potential for growth, securing distributors in those areas and then monitoring their progress in line with corporate goals. 

Candidates must demonstrate previous success in starting and growing durable consumer products businesses overseas, preferably in Asia, Australia, Europe, Russia and South America, Lonski said. They must have an "in-depth knowledge" of international distribution, market development and sales strategies for durable consumer goods; have experience in dealing with international markets and cultures; and the ability to manage multiple complex projects. Foreign language skills and experience living outside North America is a "plus," according to Lonski.

Candidates also must have a college degree in business management or marketing, with preferably a Masters of Business Administration, and at least 10 years' experience in domestic and international operations. The company is looking for a strong leader with a "rolled up sleeves style to go deep into the tactical details to achieve success."
