WASHINGTON, D.C. - In cooperation with the Consumer Product Safety Commission, John Deere is recalling about 4,700 John Deere Gator RSX850i Base, Sport and Trail side-by-sides.
According to the recall notice, the vehicles’ oil filter can leak, posing a fire hazard. Pinholes or cracks have been identified in oil filters installed by the engine supplier. The filters were not manufactured to specification.
John Deere has received four reports of incidents resulting in fires. No injuries have been reported.
Gator models with the below serial numbers are included in the recall. The serial number is on the rear frame above the receiver hitch.

Consumers are being told to stop using the recalled vehicles and to contact a John Deere dealer to schedule a free inspection and repair. John Deere is contacting all registered owners of the recalled vehicles directly.
