SHAKOPEE, Minn. – The rally circuit just isn’t enough for Inessa Hansen. She started her ladies riding apparel company, One Sexy Biker Chick, in 2010, selling at rallies and online. Saturday she will open For The Journey Emporium, a women's motorcycle apparel shop.
She’s going grand for the opening from 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday: Shakopee is closing down a street for a party with food, live music and motorcycles. Hansen said she wants to make it into a major motorcycle rally within five years.
Hansen sells products at 24 motorcycle rallies every year. She designs the clothing herself and about 80 percent of it is manufactured in the U.S., she told the Minneapolis Business Journal.
Hansen said she got the idea for One Sexy Biker Chick after going through a divorce years ago. She didn't feel sexy, and as a rider, found that most of the women's motorcycle apparel was ill-fitting.
"Sexy is not an age. It's not a look. It's an attitude," said Hansen. "When women come into our store, we give them the ability to get their sexy back."
