Kawasaki Motors Corp., U.S.A. (KMC) has increased the basic limited warranty on Kawasaki ATVs from six months to 12 months. The new 12-month basic warranty will apply to all 2008 units, plus all 2007 and prior-year new Kawasaki ATVs retailed after Nov. 1, 2007.
Registered owners of 2008 ATVs will get a letter from Kawasaki informing them that the basic warranty on their units has been increased from 6-months to 12-months. Registered owners will also receive updated product registration cards and warranty certificates.
At any time prior to the expiration of the basic warranty, owners can purchase a Good TimesProtection Plan (GTPP) for their Kawasaki ATV. The GTPP will become effective after the expiration of the basic warranty. Owners may purchase a GTPP for 12, 24, 36, or 48 months beyond the basic warranty, all with unlimited mileage. The benefits of the GTPP include Unlimited Mileage Protection, no deductible, no paperwork, and nationwide coverage. All covered repairs are paid in full by Kawasaki directly, relieving owners of the claim filing and reimbursement hassles. The GTPP is also transferable to the next owner of the vehicle at no cost.
KMC says the move serves as another way for dealers to add value to Kawasaki products.
