Kegel Harley-Davidson plans 100th anniversary party

Kegel Harley-Davidson of Rockford, Ill., will celebrate its centennial this June with help from the Country Throwdown Fired up by Kingsford.

The event features headliner Gary Allen, recording artists Josh Thompson, Eric Paslay and Sunny Sweeney. It will be at Davis Park at 4 p.m. June 23, and the Rockford stop also includes special guest Rodney Atkins.

Starting at 10 a.m. June 23, Kegel will host its centennial celebration with entertainment, live music, a bike show and food and beverage vendors. For riders, there will also be field events and a poker run. At 5:30 p.m., cyclists will all parade to Davis Park for the concert.

During Kegel’s history, the business has moved to various locations throughout Rockford. The latest, at 7125 Harrison Ave., includes a diner along with the traditional sales and services.

Tickets for Country Throwdown start at $30 and go on sale March 2, 2012 at 10 a.m. Tickets are available online at www.bmoharrisbankcenter.com or at the BMO Harris Bank Center Box Office, 300 Elm St., Rockford.
