WASHINGTON, D.C. - Kuryakyn Holdings is recalling a selection of its motorcycle backrests sold between March 2012 and May 2013: certain model 1660 (chrome finish) units and certain model 1661 (black and chrome finish) units.

The backrest pivot screws may come loose and cause the backrest to separate from the motorcycle.

The potential number of units affected is 386.

Kuryakyn will notify customers and instruct them to visit their nearest motorcycle dealer to have replacement screws installed, free of charge. The recall (No. 13E033000) began in June. Owners can contact Kuryakyn at 866-296-4728.
