Laconia’s City Council is postponing most to the city’s Bike Week rules until 2013, but will consider two items that may affect the 2012 rally set for June 9 to 17.
One measure would require property owners, permit applicants and vendors who have “an outstanding accounts receivable from the city for previous special events on that property” to settle up before getting a permit for another event. City Manager Scott Myers says a number of accounts are delinquent by as much as $2,000, according to the Laconia Citizen.
The second could change the permitting process for burnout pits, which are popular with rally attendees but not so much with neighbors.
Consideration of other proposed changes will be put off so they will not affect the rally before 2013.
