M2R Has New Owner

Helmet and apparel supplier Made 2 Race (M2R) has been acquired by McLeod Accessories, an Australian motorcycle accessories distribution company.

McLeod is a subsidiary of Repco Corp. Repco is an automotive aftermarket group with 4,800 employees, primarily located throughout Australia and New Zealand. The company has annual sales of approx $865 million.

M2R's new global office will be based in Brisbane, Australia, with additional brand offices in California to serve the North and South American markets, and in Zurich and Barcelona to serve the European markets.

"We see huge potential in the brand and will be investing heavily to further invigorate the product lineup and expand our distribution footprint & operations globally," says a Repco representative. ?The huge value in the "Made to Ride? and ?Made to Race? icons and concepts, what M2R actually stands for, will be the foundation upon which we grow the brand."

Repco says it plans a new marketing program to roll out progressively over the coming months, in concert with the 2008 product introduction.

M2R product is distributed to dealers in the U.S. through Motorcycle Stuff.
