WISCASSET, Maine – Custom bike lovers can get everything they need at the new Twisted Iron Customs shop, which offers repair, custom-painting, building whole bikes, roadside assistance and consignment.

The business opened July 22. Owner Michael Benner is planning a grand opening from 11 a.m.to 5 p.m. Sept. 1, featuring rock band No Guts No Glory.

The shop has seven employees, including mechanics Greg Williams and Darron Pierce. Pierce ran his own shop nearby before joining Twisted Iron; he told the Wiscasset Newspaper that Twisted Iron Customs has had more business since it opened than his shop would have seen in an entire season.

Benner credits his highway location for some of the business.
