Michigan helmet law challenged

Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm has threatened to veto a bill passed in the state’s House that would let motorcycle riders 21 and older ride without helmets.

The Democrat-led House passed repeal on a 63-46 vote. The bill now goes to the Republican-led Senate, according to Insurance Journal.

Granholm has concerns about safety and potentially higher insurance rates if the state repeals its mandatory helmet law.
