WHITEHALL, Mich. – While most people were watching the presidential contest on Nov. 6, Whitehall voters approved a ballot measure that will allow snowmobiling inside city limits between 7 a.m. and midnight during winter months.

Snowmobiles will be allowed between Dec. 1 and April 1 on routes to be designated by the City Council, according to the Muskegon Chronicle.

Unofficial results indicated 795 people voted for the proposal and 528 voted against it.

Voters had rejected proposals to allow snowmobiling three times in the past.
