SANTA MONICA, Calif. – Dealer Expo announces that industry and dealership veteran Mike Manthey has joined its Attendee Relations team. Manthey will be contacting North American retailers as part of Dealer Expo’s outreach program to bring quality buyers to the show, to be held this December in Chicago.
Manthey joins a team of eight Attendee Relations professionals providing outreach services to dealers, retailers and shop owners interested in attending Dealer Expo. These services include annually registering for the show, and helping retailers navigate the show experience, said Tracy Harris, senior vice president of Advanstar's Powersports Group, producer of Dealer Expo (and parent of Dealernews).
Manthey will be talking to dealers, retailers and shop owners to discuss the variety of new business education, product training and networking programs offered at the 2014 Dealer Expo. He will assist them with registration, and work with them to identify additional needs and suggestions. He also will be managing attendee outreach for Dealer Expo’s prestigious Full Throttle Dealer program, which offers exclusive onsite amenities to top dealers in the industry.
“Mike is a valuable addition to the Attendee Relations team,” said Mary Slepicka, group content director for Dealer Expo and publisher of Dealernews. “He has worked across brands, managed a variety of dealership departments and has been responsible for everything from web development to F&I. He understands the day-to-day concerns of retailers.”
Manthey began his career in the powersports industry more than 20 years ago as Business Manager of a dealership in Delaware. He has since managed dealerships in North Dakota, California and Minnesota. Over the course of his career, he managed financial products at Polaris, and was a field trainer and developer for Canadian financial dealership products, a social media specialist with LinkedIn, and a market analyst for 50 Below Sales & Marketing. Manthey completed courses in management, leadership and performance consulting at Harley-Davidson University and served on the Minnesota Motorcycle Safety Advisory Committee.
Manthey, who also runs a motorcycle and PG&A consignment business, is based in Advanstar’s Duluth, Minn., offices. Interested retailers may contact him at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Dealer Expo will be held Friday, Dec. 5 through Sunday, Dec. 7 at McCormick Place West in downtown Chicago. It will be preceded by the one-day DX National Retail Conference on Thursday, Dec. 4, hosted and organized by Dealernews. All registered retail attendees are invited to the DX National Retail Conference educational sessions free of charge.
