Bootheel Harley-Davidson and Black Diamond Harley-Davidson are kicking off a fundraiser to raise money for victims of recent flooding from the Mississippi River cresting in Illinois and Missouri.
Bootheel Harley-Davidson in Scott City, Mo., and Black Diamond Harley-Davidson in Marion, Ill. will sell raffle tickets for a chance to win a new 2011 Harley Davidson motorcycle. Tickets cost $10 for one or $20 for four. Ticketholders must be present July 2 to win.
The goal is to raise $40,000 in 40 days. All proceeds will go to flood victims in Southeast Missouri and Southern Illinois, according to KFVS.
Oher prizes include a week stay at a timeshare in Daytona Beach and a gift basket valued at $250.
Both dealerships will accept items such as nonperishable food, blankets and personal hygiene products for the American Red Cross to distribute to victims. Teddy bears will also be sold for a minimum donation of $5 and given to children displaced by the floods.
