MMI graduate opens motorcycle shop in Iowa, specializes in used parts

The second time may be the charm for a new shop in Woodbine, Iowa, that caters to anyone who needs powersports parts.

Woodbine Cycle Salvage opened early last month, the second try for owners Viktor and Joni Hansen.

“My parents had a lot of motorcycle parts and had kind of been doing something similar for a few years,” Joni Hansen told the Southwest Iowa News. “So in 2010, we bought all of it from them. We had to sell all of the parts to get the money for Viktor to go to school in Arizona.”

Viktor Hansen completed the 72-week motorcycle technician specialist program through the Motorcycle Mechanics Institute and graduated a year ago. He worked for another shop before opening Woodbine Cycle Salvage.

The shop specializes in Honda Goldwing parts, but carries several other offers motorcycle and ATV repairs and maintenance. “If there are parts you’re looking for, we have a list together and actively try to find these parts,” Viktor Hansen says. “We can do full restorations on the ones we get in – minus the paint. But we currently have a list of 10 to 15 bikes people are looking for. And we’re here to help.”
