JANESVILLE, Wis. - One of the most important but humble pieces on any motorcycle is the common kickstand and the once-ubiquitous centerstand. Sidestands are of obvious use, of course, and centerstands allow ease of parking and maintenance, which is doubly useful on adventure touring machines where soft ground can be the rule, not the exception.
Moose Racing has created a pair of centerstands for two of the most popular middleweight adventure bikes.
Covering the Kawasaki KLR650 and the Suzuki DL650 V-Strom, Moose centerstands start at $142.95, are built in the USA and are designed to handle the abuse that only riding off-road can deliver. Hardened fasterners, independent mounting plates and a tough black powdercoated finish all ensure that the centerstand will continue to function smoothly after the miles wear on, the company said.
For bikes needing a conventional side stand, Moose also makes a line of aluminum kickstands for a variety of machines, with prices ranging from only $8.95 up to $119.95. Each kickstand set features a steel mounting bracket for strength that includes all the necessary hardware and requires no permanent modifications to the motorcycle. Better yet, replacement parts are available as needed, such as springs and footpads.
