WASHINGTON, D.C. - Piaggio Group Americas is recalling certain model year 2012 and 2013 Moto Guzzis because, due to manufacturing error, the rear suspension connecting links could fail, the NHTSA announced today.
"If the rear suspension links fail while riding, the rear suspension would suddenly collapse," NHTSA said in the recall announcement.
Piaggio is recalling roughly 680 units, including:
- Griso 1200s made Jan. 26, 2012, through April 29, 2013;
- Norge 1200s made Jan. 25, 2012 through March 21, 2013; and
- Stelvio NTX 1200s made Feb. 6, 2012, through April 10, 2013.
Piaggio is notifying owners. Moto Guzzi dealers are asked to replace the rear suspension connecting links on affected vehicles free of charge.
