TOKYO, Japan - Honda Motor Co. reported a 4.9 percent increase in motorcycle segment revenue for the first fiscal quarter of 2013.

In North America, unit sales increased 13 percent to about 59,000, with the company highlighting increased sales of ATV models like the FourTrax Rancher, as well as the BR250R and Ruckus scooters.

Worldwide, unit sales were up 12.5 percent, helped by introductions of new models in India, Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam.

The company saw increased revenue in the automobile segment as production recovers from the effects of the Great East Japan Earthquake, and increased revenue in the motorcycle segment despite unfavorable foreign currency translation effects.
