Motorcycle Superstore exec to speak at retail summit

An executive from Motorcycle Superstore is a featured speaker on the schedule for Aberdeen Group Aberdeen Retail Summit, June 17 and 18 at the Westin Hotel at Times Square in New York City.

Erick Barney, VP of marketing at Motorcycle Superstore, is scheduled to speak at the event, which features Aberdeen Retail Practice Research Director Sahir Anand and the company’s retail research analyst team.

The event will “address the pain points of executives at a time when new thinking is required to understand what customers want in products and services sold across retail sub-segments,” according to Aberdeen. Other confirmed speakers include VPs and C-level executives from the Association of Retail Technology Standards; Autozone; Best Buy; Bob's Stores; Crocs; Family Dollar; Hastens; Kenneth Cole; New York & Company; Santa Clara University; Save Mart Supermarkets; Swarovski; Vitamin Shoppe; Walgreens; and Wet Seal.

Aberdeen also announced the nominations for its industry achievement awards for excellence in Retail Management. Award winners will be chosen from six industry categories.

Award nominees were chosen based on proprietary Aberdeen research conducted over the past several months covering retail process excellence; executive stewardship; business evolution; innovation in technology; and performance excellence.
