BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Motus Motorcycles has moved its headquarters to the original location of the Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum.

The upstart U.S. sport touring company will take over the old building in Birmingham’s historic Lakeview district, the place where more than 400 bikes were restored and/or housed before Barber moved to its new location in 2003.

“There are spirits still lingering here and, to us, something very meaningful about handcrafting new machines where so many motorcycles were painstakingly preserved for all to enjoy,” Motus stated.

According to Al.com, the city of Birmingham provided $75,000 in tax abatements as incentive for Motus to move into the facility.

The company says that factory tours will start in early 2013.
