THREE RIVERS, Mass. - Mustang Motorcycle Products LLC has created a new seat exclusively for the BMW R1200 GS adventure-touring bike. Well known for its offerings in the V-twin and metric cruiser markets, Mustang has recently branched out, creating a range of replacement seats and accessories for Triumphs as well as a new custom seat program.

However, this new BMW seat marks Mustang’s first foray into the increasingly popular adventure-touring segment.

The seat features a combination of Mustang’s baseplate, foam and cover technologies. The baseplate provides the proper supporting foundation, while a proprietary formula for controlled density polyurethane foam gives Mustang seats their ability to retain their shape and provide support for years of use. Finally, Mustang’s covers are made of high quality expanded vinyl, with the appearance of high grade leather but durability and weather resistance that exceeds cowhide.

The Mustang seat sits 1.5 inches lower than stock, while still being narrow enough to facilitate a flat-foot stance for most riders. Options include a nine-inch wide passenger seat and a fully adjustable, easily removable driver backrest. This new BMW GS saddle fits 2004-2012 BMW R1200GS models (i.e. oil-head models), and retails for $429.
