TERRYVILLE, Conn. - Steve Veltri has been named director of sales for Mustang Motorcycle Products.
Veltri (see image) previously was with Custom Chrome, where he served as regional sales manager, national sales manager and ultimately vice president of sales and marketing.
"We feel the addition of Steve to the team will help us accelerate the brand’s evolution,” said Mustang Product Manager Matt Kulman. “Steve’s experience with distribution, business development, strategic planning and leadership in both the metric and V-twin market really make him the perfect candidate.”
In the announcement, Mustang stated that it was Veltri’s work with a network of more than 5,000 Harley-Davidson franchises and independent dealers around the world that solidified the deal. “Quite simply, he has the skills and the contacts that Mustang needs to add to the mix moving forward,” said Mustang Marketing Director, Marilyn Simmons.
After his departure from Custom Chrome, Veltri worked in the wholesale irrigation business. “I’m excited to be back in the industry I’ve called ‘home’ for many years,” Veltri said. “The opportunity to help Mustang succeed in its strategic goals and expand the company’s reach with my industry friends is a unique opportunity… and one I couldn’t refuse.”
The company said Veltri will visit distributors and dealers, do ride-alongs with sales reps, and conduct training sessions on the road. “My mission is to make the motorcycle market aware of the new Mustang: Clean, Class, Comfort.”
