Myrtle Beach’s City Council has voted to relax the city’s controversial noise ordinance enacted in 2008 in an effort to tame rally traffic. A lawsuit by Horry county hoteliers and rider groups forced the city to reconsider.
The change increases the noise level allowed within city limits from 89 decibels to 92 decibels, according to WPDE.
