DAYTON, Ohio - A new electric scooter, motorcycle and bicycle store, Boogies Green Machines, will open March 1 in Dayton.

“We’re an alternative transportation dealership with the idea of offering eco-friendly transportation that is still fun and cool,” Doug Girtman told the Dayton Business Journal.

Girtman says the store hopes to attract shoppers from all over the Dayton region, but will cater to a more diverse crowd than a typical bike shop.

“We have products catering to the commuters, college students, beginner riders, women riders — a big group that is underrepresented,” he said. “Bike shops are kind of a boys club. That leaves a lot of people out. We want to change that a little bit.”

The store will be open from noon to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Friday in the winter, with extended hours from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Friday in the summer.
