A new documentary, “Harlistas: An American Journey,” premieres this month via download and next month on Spanish-language television.
Director Alfredo de Villa’s film follows the emotional journeys of real-life Harlistas – Harley riders of Latino heritage – as they seek adventure, camaraderie and the American Dream.
La Banda Films says the 90-minute documentary is the first of its kind to profile Latino motorcycling culture in the United States.
"This documentary captures an unexplored terrain: the bond between Harlistas, their motorcycles and their families," says de Villa. "Much more than the traditional historical or fictional narratives, this film charts new boundaries and is as fearless as Harley-Davidson itself."
The film will be available first On Demand and to own via digital download starting April 21. Then it’s scheduled to premiere on Telemundo's mun2 May 27 with additional airings May 28, July 29 and 30.
