New repair shop bets variety will fuel business

Mike Dennis thinks variety is the spice of life — and a good business plan for his new Maryland motorcycle shop.

Dennis opened Motorcycle Rider’s Co. last month, offering repair and accessories. He opened the store after more than 30 years of riding motorcycles and more than a decade spent working at bike shops in the Odenton area.

“I’m really hoping to get every type of rider in here,” he told Odenton-Severn Patch. “That’s what I want it to be known for — that variety shop.”

Dennis sold most of his own motorcycles to open the business, but still rides a green Honda Valkyrie Interstate. He’s hired a full-time mechanic and hopes to offer 24-hour turnaround on most repairs.

He said he’s received some interest from local biking groups, and hopes to eventually host charity and entertainment events.
