SANTA FE, N.M. - Santa Fe Harley-Davidson is under new management following Danny Spurlock’s sale of the shop to David Pearson.

The dealership in a former Toys R Us store was established as a 30,000-sq.-ft. Harley-Davidson dealership 14 years ago. Spurlock bought it from RideNow Powersports four years ago.

Santa Fe Harley-Davidson has a HOG chapter of more than 100 members and a Rider’s Edge program offering courses to beginner and novice riders.

New owners David and Debby Pearson bought Green Mountain Harley-Davidson of Essex Junction, Vt., in 2008. That store has a HOG chapter 200 strong as well as a staff of 28 – almost half of them women – and has been recognized as a Top 100 dealer for the past three years.

David Pearson has been a financial and managerial consultant in the motorcycle industry for several years. When the opportunity presented itself to become a Harley-Davidson dealership owner, the couple “traded the Rocky Mountains for the Green Mountains,” as Debby Pearson puts it.

This transaction was exclusively facilitated by George C. Chaconas of Performance Brokerage Services.

“When George came to Vermont to meet with me and my team, we expressed that we would be interested in a lifestyle store in the Southwest. George found us exactly what we had been looking for when he brought us Santa Fe Harley-Davidson.”

Spurlock praised Chaconas’ services, which will help him retire to Florida “Throughout the transaction, George was responsive, professional and most importantly, ethical,” he said. “The deal was as smooth as could be.”
