Just as New York HOG riders prepare for this year’s rally in Syracuse, the group has announced the 2011 rally will be in Geneva.
The city will host the 2011 HOG rally July 7 to 9 at the Ramada Inn and the city’s 60-acre Lakefront Park.
“The city of Geneva is very excited to be chosen as host city for the 2011 rally,’’ City Manager Mathew Horn told the Finger Lakes Times. “This effort was an example of the true partnership model in economic development that was envisioned at City Council’s recent economic development summit.”
Geneva beat out Alexandria Bay for the 2011 rally, which will have a pirate theme. Activities will begin Thursday afternoon and go through Saturday evening. The HOG rally will be on the same weekend as the Geneva Business Improvement District’s Cruisin’ Night, which will be expanded to two days, according to the newspaper.
The main event for rally attendees are guided and self-guided tours throughout the Finger Lakes region, dealer runs, costume contests, bike games, a parade, treasure hunt and other activities.
