Care to take a peep into the future of the American powersports market? If you're a member of the Motorcycle Industry Council, the industry trade group's annual communications symposium, Inroads to the Future, is the place to do so.
On October 27, the MIC presents a full-day, membership-only event in Carson, Calif., where noted professionals from a variety of disciplines will present timely information about the economy and a snapshot of the modern, American consumer.
This year's agenda includes:
- Opening presentation with Tim Buche, MIC president and CEO and MIC board chairman Larry Little
- Dr. Esmael Adibi, director of Chapman University's A. Gary Anderson Center for Economic Research and holder of the Anderson Chair in Economic Analysis, will talk about what is coming next for our local, state and national economies. Adibi will also discuss compelling new information about consumer spending, interest rates and unemployment.
- Alan Beaulieu from the Institute for Trend Research will introduce the first of the new MIC quarterly business forecasts, which include key content from the ITR and from MIC Research
- An afternoon presentation by Dr. Paul Leinberger of The Futures Company. Leinberger will present, "Winning in an Age of Uncertainty: The 2011 State of the American Consumer." Here he will review findings of the 2011 State of the American Consumer survey, the nation's most comprehensive consumer trends survey. With a special emphasis on the Millennial Generation, he will then suggest concrete steps that can be taken to make 2012 a banner year — in spite of unprecedented uncertainty and change. A working session with Leinberger will follow his presentation.
