WASHINGTON, D.C. - Ohlins Racing is recalling certain steering dampers sold for use as aftermarket equipment on BMW S 1000 RR and R 1200 R motorcycles.

The dampers were manufactured with an incorrectly machined bracket that could crack. If there is a crack in the steering bracket, it may cause the steering to lock at low speeds.

The potential number of units affected is 801.

Ohlins will notify the distributors and provide their customers with a new bracket. The recall (No. 13E034000) was expected to begin in June.
