GALVESTON, Texas – Organizers of the 11th Annual Lone Star Rally have declared the event a success, with perfect weather, an expanded event zone and a crowd estimated in the hundreds of thousands over the weekend.

This year’s really had a variety of new events, including Friday night’s free concert by Bret Michaels.

The 2012 Lone Star Rally, presented by Geico, included celebrity bike builders and vendors offering just about every accessory available. This year marked the first return of activities to the Seawall area for the Lone Star Rally since Hurricane Ike wreaked havoc on the Island in 2008.

Some of the biggest draws of this year’s event were the free Friday night concert and a series of back-to-back autograph signing sessions by Charlie “Jax” Hunnam, star of FX television network’s “Sons of Anarchy,” who posed for shots with hundreds of eager fans Friday and Saturday. Hunnam also led a pack of more than 1,500 riders to Galveston as the grand marshal of the Outlaw Dave Ranch Ride benefitting the Stevens and Pruett Ranch for abused children and animals.

In the Full Throttle Lot at the south end of the event zone, rallygoers were able to interact with Rick Fairless of Strokers Dallas, the Martin Bros., Mike and Angie Ballard, Roman Blum of RB Customs, who created a one-of-a-kind Lone Star Rally-themed bike for rally principal Mark Gray.
