ALBANY, Ga. - The Outdoor Network, one of the largest online suppliers of parts and accessories for marine and powersports enthusiasts, will relocate its Internet fulfillment center to Albany, Ga., creating an estimated 112 jobs in the area, according to the local economic development commission.

Outdoor Network operates a retail operation in Albany known as Powersports Plus, selling motorcycles, ATVs, parts and maintenance.

From Albany, Outdoor Network will obtain customer orders and fulfill those orders for shipment throughout the world, said Martin Polo, CEO of Powersports Plus, LLC. Workforce training for Outdoor Network will be provided by Georgia Quick Start through Albany Technical College.

According to Polo, the process to bring the distribution center to Albany began in earnest after Tom D’Azevedo, owner of Outdoor Network, attended the 2012 Georgia Quail Hunt in Albany, co-sponsored by the Albany-Dougherty Economic Development Commission.

“We’d been in [Lake Placid] Florida for the past 12 years, but after the quail hunt Tom brought his enthusiasm back to the team,” Polo says.

Outdoor Network bought a 27,000 sq. ft. structure in Albany. While no specific timetable was given as to when the jobs will be filled, Polo says he expects significant movement “within the next few weeks.”
