WHILE WE HOPED o have covered all of the vendors at the recent LeMans Corp. 2009 Holiday Showcase, we would have needed a twin or two to get to everybody. With that said, here are some of the highlights we were able to snag in the short afternoon of working the Showcase. We previously highlighted what the good folks at Roland Sands Design are up to.

The event offers Parts Unlimited and Drag Specialties dealers from the Western half of the U.S. (and, apparently the Southeast) a chance to network with the people whose parts they buy and meet-and-greet pro motorsports athletes and other dealers. The showcase that easily took up about 25 percent of LeMans expansive warehouse in Sparks, Nev., was humming with curious dealers — four of whom made the trip from Florida — and busy vendors.

Organizers reported that about 475 dealership personnel were on hand to view products from around 150 vendors (give or take 2 or 3).

Some of these products are new and some were introduced earlier this year.

Z1R should the Ace Transit helmet with the Royale Air graphic available to dealers in mid-November. The Royale Air graphic is aimed at scooter riders, while the solid color targets standard riders. The Transit can be worn in several configurations — with the visor and faceshield, with just the visor, with just the faceshield and without either for the full open-face experience. Z1R's lineup of full face helmets all conform to the ECE 22.05 standards, a plus for deployed military riders who are shipping their helmets and bikes overseas. Z1R's Amy Blackwell says to look out for a line of 3/4 helmets in retro graphics that will be aimed at the V-twin crowd. "2010 is going to be a big year for us," Blackwell says.

The Hog Pod from Hog Tunes is a big seller for Drag Specialties. The speaker system "Radically improves sound, even at speed," says Mike "Pez" Pesdirz. According to the company, the Hog Pod elevates the music and helps high frequency sound make its way around the handlebars, master cylinders, GPS units, and other controls and on to the rider's ears. The speaker mounts to all 1998 - 2009 Harley-Davidson FLH/X models with radios. The unit, like other Hog Tune products, comes with a plug-and-play harness.

Drag Specialties Seat Co., offers the Pinstripe seat, featuring custom colored stitching in the leather. The company's Easy Glide II Backrest is an adjustable backrest that installs in the Easy Glide II seating system. The pad adjusts up and down with two 3/4 inch adjustments with a total of 1 1/2 inches of travel. LeMans' seat division general manager Kevin Lehan says the company is coming out with more metric cruiser applications.

Michelin has reformulated the compounds for its XC-series tires — the S12 XC and the M12 XC. The new rear rubber mixture improves durability by at least 25 percent compared wiht previous versions. And, a redesigned casing construction helps improve traction, feedback and feel, and speeds warm-up time. The redesigned tires also have thicker sidewalls in the bead area, which helps improve flexibility of the tread area.
