Vance & Hines is launching a new line of sportbike-related products and expanding its offerings to once again include products for the sport, dirt, metric cruiser and H-D markets. Despite a downturn in the economy and the resulting industry slowdown, the company plans to market itself as a brand for every category of two-wheeler except scooters.
"People are making cut-backs in their R&D department, but we're not," says Terry Vance. "We're going to keep it on full throttle."
Among the Vance & Hines products for sportbikes: the CS One Undertail for the CBR600RR and R1; and the CS One Tapered Slip-On for the CBR1000RR, Concours 14, ZX-14, ZX-10, ZX-6R, Ninja 250, Hayabusa, GSX-R1000/750/600; and R6.
As for marketing the brand, John Potts, marketing director, says the plan includes getting out in front or consumers at organized events and utilizing the company website and social media outlets such as Facebook.
"This year we were scheduled to do 27 events with our two semi trucks, and next year we plan to do an equal number if not more," Potts says. "If there are dealers out there who are having events, they can just let us know and we'll work to get one of our trucks loaded with product out there."

"All promotions and advertising for the coming year are directing consumers and dealers to the website," Vance says. "The site is absolutely up-to-date with product details and pricing, so anyone with questions needs to know that's the place to go."
