MADISON, Wis. - For 2011, the crew at Vance & Hines announced more than 50 new products, many of them aimed at the metric bike market.
In the exhaust manufacturers's presentation to Drag Specialties and Parts Unlimited reps, the company's John Potts also gave details about its expanded east coast production facility in Brownsburg, Ind. — a total of 160,000 sq. ft. now — where all of the metric applications are manufactured. This frees up V&H's west coast factory to focus on V-twin products.
The company is also heavily involved in the new AMA Pro Vance & Hines XR1200 racing series, which debuted last year and features the Harley-Davidson Sportster XR1200. In fact, company namesake Terry Vance was in Indianapolis for the first day of testing leading up to the Red Bull Indy GP.
For the 2001-2012 model year Honda Gold Wings, Vance & Hines introduced the GL Monster slip-ons that will retail for $899.95. The Wing remains an untapped market for the company and it developed the OEM-quality muffler system with the bike's loyal following in mind. The pipes were a huge hit when unveiled to the crowds at this year's Wing Ding rally. They will be available the first of September.
On the V-twin side, the company now has the Trike Deluxe slip-ons for H-D's Tri Glide Ultra Classic and Street Glide trikes. The cans require the Trike Adaptor kit and are compatible with the Power Duals head pipes.
New off-road offerings include the TiPro Dual Chamber system developed exclusively for the Yamaha YZ450F. The full-titanium setup meets the AMA's 94dB sound requirement and comes with fixed race insert.
