Lorrie Carbone, a clinical social worker at the University of Michigan Pediatric Cancer Clinic, told the crowd how their donations make a difference in kids' lives.
The Michigan event raised $57,099. Lewis and Cindy Shuler of Angola, Ind., raised $5,804 to take the top individual fundraiser honors. Cycle Conservation Club had the most club donations with $6,644, while the customers of C & C Sports of Brighton, Mich., raised $5,391 to make it the top motorcycle business. Joe Matte of Taylor, Mich., won the grand prize Honda motorcycle.
The organization credits volunteers Kathy and Bill Chapin, Sue and Bob Lorenz, and visitation leaders Claudia and George Ellison with a successful event.
