DENVER, Pa. – Auction house Morphy Auctions is looking for motorcycle and classic car specialists to support its new automobile and motorcycle division.
“There’s a tremendous amount of crossover between buyers of antique firearms, toys and advertising – three of our core categories – and those who collect classic cars,” Dan Morphy, founder and president, said. “Many of our consignors have expressed the desire to consign their automobiles and motorcycles with us, and now we have a division dedicated exclusively to handling those consignments.”
Many of Morphy’s current employees have a strong interest in cars and motorcycles, but specialists are being hired for the automobile and motorcycle division.
The company plans to hold two vehicle auctions a year, one in Lancaster County and the other in Las Vegas. The first auction is scheduled for Oct. 11 in Lancaster County. The next will be in 2015 in Las Vegas.
“Each of our sales will be high-quality, well-produced events,” Morphy said. “Going forward, in addition to an annual Pennsylvania-based sale, we will host one remote sale per year, always at a location that car and motorcycle collectors enjoy. As the division continues to grow, so will the number of auctions each year.”
