PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The city’s public safety committee will hold a public hearing on ATV laws from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 3 at City Hall.

The committee will meet to discuss amending the city’s Traffic Code, which forbids riding ATVs within city limits, to lay out enforcement and penalties for illegal ATV riders.

The committee will hold an open meeting immediately after the hearing to discuss and vote on the proposals, which include seizure and sale of vehicles under certain conditions.

The meeting is the next step in an ongoing effort to step up enforcement. A raid last month netted 37 confiscated ATVs and dirt bikes.
