Polaris ATV dealership opens in remote Arizona town

LITTLEFIELD, Ariz. – Setting up shop in a remote area has its advantages: highway visibility, for one, and a place where customers can ride their ATVs right out of the desert and onto the lot.

That and proximity to a network off-road trails made a vacant former bike shop in Littlefield (Pop. 308) the perfect place for Mark and Brenda Allred and Ron Terry to open Polaris World.

“There is room to grow and we plan to grow. It’s an industry that people can’t live without,” Brenda Allred told the Moapa Valley Progress. “Every time I see that delivery truck, it’s like Christmas.”

The store hasn't yet had its grand opening but has several preorders for 2013 ATVs and SSVs, she said, and keeps busy with service.

This isn’t the Allreds’ first rodeo. Mark Allred was partner in the Mesquite Extreme Power Sports dealership just across the state line in Nevada.

“Mark has known so many of them for years and has developed relationships with the locals,” Brenda Allred said.

The shop is getting ready for a busy winter season, when Nevadans from further north travel south to ride in warmer climes. It’s not unusual for regulars to upgrade vehicles every year or two.
