VOYAGEURS NATIONAL PARK, Minn. - Polaris Industries Inc. is funding the construction of three new warming huts intended to enhance snowmobile safety and trail access in Voyageurs National Park in northern Minnesota.

The huts are designed to keep snowmobilers warm and safe from the elements, and house trail maps and other park-related material.  Polaris is also donating two new FS IQ WideTrak snowmobiles to help park rangers with winter environmental field studies and maintenance activities.

Temperatures often dip below 30° F in the region, and prolonged exposure to the cold and elements makes warming huts a necessary component of trail access, Polaris said.

The donation marks the first collaboration between the OEM and Voyageurs National Park Association (VNPA).
