Polaris recalls 2011 RZR XP 900 due to burn hazard

WASHINGTON, D.C. - In cooperation with the Consumer Product Safety Commission, Polaris is recalling the 2011 Ranger RZR XP 900 due to a burn hazard.

The firewall behind the driver and passenger seats can overheat and melt. Polaris has received one report of an incident involving a consumer who received burn injuries to a finger.

The recall (No. 13-740) affects about 4,500 units.

Consumers are being advised to stop using the recalled vehicles and contact Polaris to schedule a free repair. Polaris is contacting its known customers directly.

Consumers are instructed to contact Polaris at 888-704-5290, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. CT Monday through Friday. For more information, they can visit www.polarisindustries.com, click on “Help Center” under the “Services and Support” tab, then “Common Rider Questions,” then “Service bulletins/recalls.”
