SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - Six people were arrested early Tuesday following an investigation into a string of residential burglaries in the city, the San Luis Obispo Tribune reported.

San Luis Obispo police also issued a press release, saying detectives served search warrants early Tuesday morning at two locations. Stolen property, including a handgun and jewelry, was allegedly found at the homes, as were methamphetamine, heroin and drug paraphernalia, police added. Three people were arrested on drug and weapons charges and three more were arrested on warrants and misdemeanor drug charges.

California Highway Patrol Auto Theft Task Force investigators were called in to help investigate an apparent motorcycle “chop shop” at one home, police said. Several motorcycles were found in various stages of disassembly with the VINs removed, according to police, and it's believed they were stolen.
