Powersports distributor Helmet House launches new products, new programs at national sales meeting

Helmet House recently launched several new products, and an innovative new sales program at its 2009 National Sales Meeting in Westlake Village, Calif. The meeting also gave the distributor a chance to recognize its top account managers and representatives for stellar performances in 2009.

“Our 2010 sales meeting was a great opportunity to introduce our latest new product innovations to our sales force, reward our best performers for a job well done in these challenging times; as well as clinic our sales force about working with dealers in 2010 and beyond,” said Bob Miller, president and co-founder of Helmet House. “We felt it very important that this meeting should give our sales staff the latest thinking in dealer trends so as to further increase the effectiveness of the best sales force in the industry.”

A number of exciting new products in several Helmet House product lines were also announced at this meeting. Presentations from Shoei Safety Helmet, HJC Helmets, Fieldsheer and Pokerrun apparel as well as the Helmet House products department were very well received. Also introduced were Helmet House’s new Best Shop Best Price sales programs that affords dealers the opportunity to increase profitability on some of Helmet House’s best products and most popular items. As for honoring those who excelled in 2009, several of Helmet House’s best account managers were recognized with the following awards:

  • 2009 Top Performer: Fieldsheer and Pokerun Apparel — Tom Beatty
  • 2009 Top Performer: Tour Master and Cortech Apparel — Greg Haserot
  • 2009 Top Performer: TCX Boots — Rick Choate
  • 2009 Top Performer: HJC Helmets — Greg Haserot
  • 2009 Top Performer: Shoei Helmets — Rick Choate

Highlighting the awards banquet were special visits from a wide array of sponsored pro riders including Tommy Aquino from Team Graves Yamaha, Bobby Fong from Team DNA Energy Drink Ducati, recent Pikes Peak 1205 cc Motorcycle Class winners Greg Tracy and Alexander Smith from Team Spider Grips Ducati; as well as iconic road racer and all-around personality Ben Bostrom from Pat Clark Motorsports Yamaha. Bostrom rode his bicycle by the festivities on a late night training ride after thumb surgery. Interviewed by industry veteran Ken Vreeke, these sponsored rider interviews have become a sales award banquet highlight and tradition.

Capping off the meeting was a keynote speech and training workshop from Gart Sutton and Steve Jones from Gart Sutton & Associates. Outlining the latest thinking from Gart Sutton’s “Best Operator’s Club” Twenty-Group dealers’ insights on the current state of the powersports business and particularly their parts and apparel departments proved to be some valuable. “We thought the Gart Sutton presentations were particularly valuable to our sales force as there is no doubt that the dealer landscape is changing by the day” said Phil Bellomy, vice president and co-founder of Helmet House. "The insights Gart Sutton & Associates provided on how dealers are continuing to adapt to the business climate the powersports business is in were intriguing, while the following workshops on how to implement this knowledge will give our reps the best tools on how to help dealers be even more successful with our product lines."
